A realm in between fiction and reality

Updated: Apr 9, 2022

It's important for a book Author to connect with readers.

I like to connect with readers. I like to put a lot of my emotions, experiences and opinions into what I write. I like being able to make my writing something other people can connect to, or relate to in some way, with the thoughts and experiences I’m writing about.

There is a realm between written fiction and reality. Realistic fiction is a genre consisting of stories that could of actually occurred to people in a time and setting that is plausible. My latest novel stories resemble real life crime events and realistic fictional characters within the stories. The book characters react similar to real people.

The key when writing a fiction story, is to write realism as a literary technique, to describe story elements, such as settings, characters, themes and so on; using personal experiences and areas I actually know, been to, and spent time in. I listen to the way people talk, and base my book characters on real people.

These characters portray traits that everyone has. We are all influenced by the world around us, and have unique, individual experiences that affect our personality. In the same way, a book Author is influenced by their past when writing. Gender, race and socioeconomic status plays a part in end writing.

I believe my writings reflect the elements of life and language of our time. Also, the views held by people of the twentieth and twenty-first century, Australia.

I availed of the opportunity during the Sydney Covid -19 pandemic lockdown, to write my latest novel 'Juror Revenge' - a fiction crime-based novel.

I’ve strived to place the reader of my book in the story. For them to visualise the scene, the location, and the nation where each crime event takes place.

I hope you enjoy the read.
